A Sea of Poverty

While “The shifting political winds are battering the establishment”, Shamus Cooke notes that, “The tiny victories of the left are getting drowned in a sea of poverty”. The bureaucratic stasis of the so-called left, however, means they are squandering the moment, “too timid to get their hands dirty organizing”. Detached from the world around them, the union pragmatists continue groveling to the establishment, endorsing the notoriously anti-union Hillary Clinton.

In the face of rampant inequality and injustice, the only cause the pragmatists champion is their own losing top down labor movement.
